Este repositório documenta 137 capturas de ecrã originais preservadas e 1,505 recursos das vítimas que foram auditados, detalhando o tratamento automatizado de pedidos de apoio pelo Valve. Isso comprova que, quando as contas são comprometidas através do redirecionamento do OpenID ou da geração não autorizada de chaves API, o Apoio ao Cliente Steam recorre sistematicamente a respostas padrão de recusa, sem qualquer investigação técnica. Ao recusar categoricamente a restauração de itens ou a divulgação de registos de auditoria, a plataforma transfere toda a responsabilidade pelas falhas estruturais de autenticação para os titulares das contas comprometidas.

Valve afirma, em campanhas de marketing e publicações em fóruns, que mantém um regime de fiscalização ativo para proteger a segurança dos utilizadores. Na resposta ao ticket n.º1cp582i, Steam, o colaborador do apoio ao cliente «Roger» admite por escrito que os atacantes cancelam transações legítimas através de API e as substituem por bots clonados em milésimos de segundo, mas recusa-se a restaurar os itens e diz à vítima para procurar um «técnico de informática local».

Exatamente uma semana antes de a Valve ter imposto o seu controverso período de espera de 7-para a troca de itens do Counter-Strike, a comunidade de trocas descobriu os primeiros casos reais da **Steam API Web: Exploração de redirecionamento de tráfego**. Os atacantes deturparam sessões web para gerar uma chave não autorizada de «API» em `steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey` sem a confirmação da FA por 2móvel, o que permite que os bots cancelem e troquem transações em tempo real.

**Aviso da campanha de sensibilização «2018» de março:** *«Os burlões conseguem detetar automaticamente esta oferta de troca e irão recusá-la na tua conta, porque têm a tua chave Steam API. O bot de burla irá agora enviar-te uma oferta de troca pelas mesmas skins... e tu nem vais notar a diferença!»*
